I mean, will it work better than my ATI Radeon 3650 HD?|||To put it bluntly, yes, it should work better than the Radeon HD 3650. The clock speed on the GeForce GT430 is much higher than that of the HD 3650, and it has a newer architecture (Fermi).
I found the card you are looking at here if you want detailed specifications on it.

Is a MSI R4650-MD1G Radeon HD 4650 Video Card enough to run fallout 3?
MSI R4650-MD1G Radeon HD 4650 Video Card - 1GB GDDR2, PCI Express 2.0, CrossFireX, VGA, DVI (Dual Link), HDMI
I'm looking into buying a video card i'm wondering if this will run fallout 3.
if it does not, any recommendations (site links) to a video card that will run it?|||Eh... it's enough for Fallout 3 but too weak for more demanding titles.
The Radeon 4650 is generally considered the absolutely minimum card with decent gaming performance, under no circumstances would you want to go lower. Cards like the 4350 and 3450 aren't gaming cards at all, just general purpose cards for web browsing and viewing photos/videos (although they can play a few low-end games)
The 4650 is decent, but for $15-$20 more you can buy the Radeon 4670, Radeon 5570 or GeForce GT240 which are almost twice as fast. One of those would be recommended - much better bang/buck :)

Palit NE3TS25EFHD02 GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card?
I have this video card installed in my computer and I connected it to my tv using HDMI cable but I dont hear any sound coming out of my tv, how can I know if this video card can carry sound through the HDMI cable?|||make sure drivers installed correctly.
need the sound card drivers installed as the graphics card will have onboard sound card im not 100% sure the 250 does though im not up to speed with nvidea cards as much but it should just be a case of installing latest drivers and possible clicking a tick box in the nvidea suite|||thats because its only hooked up to your video card, you need to have a hookup from your sound card to your tv

How do I enable my integrated video card in Bios?
How do I enable my integrated video card in Bios? I go into it but don't see anything. I have a Dell studio 540. I am trying to activate it because I want to use HDMI port on it but I have a PCI video card enabled.|||you can't enable it, you have to remove the pci card and it will be enabled automatically.|||Just plug the cable into the HDMI port on your motherboard. It'll run through the integrated graphics card...
Would a Asus ENGTS450DIRECTCUTOPD GeForce GTS 450 DirectCU TOP Video Card - 1024MB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, DVI?
would a Asus ENGTS450DIRECTCUTOPD GeForce GTS 450 DirectCU TOP Video Card - 1024MB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, DVI, HDMI, VGA, SLI, DirectX 11, Fermi fit into a Dell GX280 sff pci-e slot?
yes yes i know why would I do that? well i am going to upgrade the motherboard and proccessor later, but for now I would just like to know if It would run. I have a 500 watt power supply so I have that down but I would like to know if I could run this.
my system has 4 gigs of ram and 1terabite and a 2.8Ghz pci
I dont want to hear all the **** about how stupid it is, i know. just like to know if it is possible.|||As I'm sure you already know, the GTS 450 is a dual slot card. It doesn't actually connect to two slots on the motherboard, it just physically occupies the space of two cards and will use two expansion slots in the back of your systems case.
Dual slot cards are right at 1.5" wide and the length and height of that card are 8.54 inches x 4.37 inches.
http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=5l…
You have the slot and power supply for it, and now you have the dimensions of the card so you should be able to measure inside your case to make sure you have the room for it.|||Yes it should fit in the slot but as you know not in the case properly as it is a small form factor case. How will you secure the top of the video card to your old case?
If using in that case the best low profile card you can use is a Radeon 5550 low profile.

IS PCI-E 2.0 and PCI-Express the same thing? With that said, can my PC run "EVGA GT220 Video Card 1GB NVIDIA"?
EVGA GT220 Video Card 1GB NVIDIA Graphic DVI HDMI PCIe
So is the pci express 2.0 x16 and pci express the same thing? I currently have a dell dimension e520 and I am getting that graphics card - i have 305 PSU.
Thanks.|||PCI-E 2.0 and PCI-Express are the same thing.basically you say PCI-Ex16 2.0 where 2.0 stands for the version of PCI-E. PCI-E slot available in following types.
PCI-E x1
PCI-E x2
PCI-E x4
PCI-E x8
PCI-E x16
PCI-E x32
to put it simple, all latest graphics cards are using PCI-E x16 2.0 slot.here x16 is width of the PCI-E slot..so if your motherboard have
PCI-E x16 1.0 or 1.1 slot then also every PCI-E x16 2.0 card will work with your computer.this is due to the backward compatibility.most motherboards have PCI-E x16 slot so I guess you also have and so that GT 220 will work with your system.remember that 1.0,2.0 and 1.1 are versions of PCI-E they are not different.
I hope you understand.anyway, don't go with GT 220.instead of that go with ATI Radeon HD 4670
which gives more performance than GT220 and prices are same.as I said, that card will also work with your computer.|||No pci express is a general term for any type of pci. You have to look if both are x16.

Sapphire ATI X1650Pro - 512MB AGP Video Card vs. GIGABYTE ATI Radeon HD4550 512MB DDR3 DVI/HDMI PCI-ExpressVid?
Ok im trying to see which one of these video cards would be best to use on a Hp pavilion 7965 to play world of warcraft.
*Sapphire cost: $66.99 but then i would have to buy a new battery pack 350 watt+ which would cost and extra $30
*GIGABYTE cost : $46.99 , idk what type of Battery pack i would need for Hp pavilion 7965 if you know can you tell me cause if i need a higher battery pack i will get 256MB GIGABYTE nVidia GeForce 6200 Video Card if it can work on my computer if you know answer that too plz :).
So which on do you think i should get for my HP Pavilion 7965?|||You CANNOT use the Radeon HD4550 at all. That card is a PCIExpress video card, and your Pavilion 7965 does NOT have a PCIExpress 16x slot to accomodate it.
The X1650Pro AGP should work in that Pavilion since the 7965 does have an AGP slot, but that is NOT a good choice.
The best and last AGP card ever made is the ATI Radeon HD3850 AGP. If you are going to do an AGP upgrade, that is the card you want. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…
Hope this helps.
EDITED TO ADD: The X1650 is two generations older than the HD3850. Consequently the X1650 is rather outdated and does not support DirectX10 or HDCP. The HD3850 is relatively recent and has DX10 and HDCP support. It's a no-brainer-- If you are going to upgrade an old AGP system, why not go for the last and best AGP card ever made? If you want anything more powerful, you'd have to buy a whole new PCIExpress system.|||sorry but i just bought one from my friend

Can i add hdmi pci card to my xp computer?
hi i have an older computer the processor is intel pentium d and have 2gb ram and 256mb video card right now I want to get an hdmi port on the computer so i was wondering if i buy a pci hdmi card will it work??????? my computer has all the slots including x16|||It won't be PCI, it will be PCI-E x16
HDMI ports are built-in to newer graphics cards. You would simply upgrade your old card to something that has one.

Does getting a HDMI Video Graphics Card make the picture a lot better?
I just bought a LG 22' monitor. It has HD capabilities. I went to the store to be a dvi d cable but I did not see a change. Then my friend told me that buying a new video card like Radeon 512MB PCI Express HDMI Video Graphics Card will make a big difference and I will be able to see the picture clearer. Is this true?|||DVI-D and HDMI carry the exact same digital video signal, with enough bandwidth for 2560x1600 @ 60 Hz. It would make no difference. Either one would provide an improvement in sharpness over VGA when connected to a LCD monitor, though the improvement might not be detectable for lower-resolution LCDs.|||Yes, it works just like a TV with HD would.|||Not really. DVI will transfer the same as HDMI when it comes to computer graphics. Maybe later on down the road...
But compared to VGA.. HDMI and DVI will look tons better.|||No DVI is just as good as HDMI, the only difference is that HDMI carries audio as well as video.

I looking to update my computer video card?
I'm looking to update video card asap is GeForce GTX 550 Ti FPB 1024 MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 2DVI/Mini-HDMI SLI Ready Graphics Card, 01G-P3-1556-K... Still good for WoW or is there something better for UNDER $150?... Games the computer plays A LOT WoW and some simulator's|||That graphics card is more than sufficient to run WOW. You could play newer generation games on medium to high setting with little or no problem. Make sure your computer is compatible with it first though. Check the pci express slot and recommended power supply for the card. I could do it for you if you were to give your computer power supply (or information to lead me there)|||The best card that you can get for your budget of $150 is this :
SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity - $140 at newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

How can I switch video cards easily so i can use hdmi to tv?
My hdmi slot is on integrated card and I have pci video card being used so hdmi slot won't work. how can I switch easily between video cards so i can use hdmi to tv when I want to?|||both integrated and pci video cards should work together. sometimes whar people put in PIC cards they will disablt the integrated card in the BIOS so it ain't taking away from the system RAM.
Go in to the BIOS and enable the integrated card|||You better buy a new video card with S-Video Out ,and you can't switch between cards the only way to do that by removing the pci card manually from the computer.

Is My Pci E broken or is it my video card?
ok while putting in my video card i had to be a lil rough with it and i was worried because all the plugs i have DVI, VGA, HDMI will not work because my screen does not receive a connection from it for some reason. i suspect i might have done something to my pci e or my video card is broken my screen was fine because it was working before i put in the new graphics card my graphics card is a ATI Radeon 4770 Series Please and Thank You|||You should NOT force any card into any slot, they slide in with just a little wiggling. I install several dozen a day.
I agree with the other guy, the slots AND the cards are relatively robust and will handle a BIT of clumsiness.
It is simple to figure out. Try the card in another PCIe16 slot or if you only have one slot, try the card in another computer. OR try someone else's card in your slot. That will determine whether the issue is the card or the slot (motherboard).
Go into the bios and make sure that it is set to card as opposed to integrated. Make sure you follow directions for the install properly In some cases, you install the card first, then the drivers, in other cases you install the drivers first. (when all else fails, read directions). Go into device manager then display adapters and make sure you see your new card, not the old one.
I doubt the screen i s broken, but thank you for mentioning it. You should also try with another hdmi or dvi cable. MOST techs prefer dvi plus spidf on our desktop boxes because it is a better, more robust connection, but we usually use hdmi on our notebooks to cut down on clutter. Make sure you use ONE cable at a time, not multiples like on a TV.|||I've been a little rough with my cards when building computers and they worked fine. Most likely your video card is defective.

Question about getting a new pci video card?
i know pci videocards are obsolete nowadays but thats all my computer can use........i am trying to decide between 2 cards....my monitor supports both dvi and hdmi......the only card i can find with hdmi is a Diablotek AP4350 512MD2-H VTX Radeon HD 4350 Video Card - 512MB DDR2, PCI, DVI, VGA, HDMI......i cant find any reviews on it and was wondering if it was a good one? the other card supports dvi and iassume it is a good one
EVGA 01G-P1-N948-LR GeForce 9400 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR2, PCI (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, VGA, Low Profile.......i play games like everquest WoW and microsoft flight simulator and a want one that will run these game alright and i also wanna run windows 7 aero.......any ideas?|||Honestly it's gonna be worth popping the extra money for a new motherboard and getting yourself into the PCI Express x16 standard. You'll get a hell of alot more bang for your buck that way.

I am using a video card PCI-E MSI model NX7600GT 256MB DDR3 w/ HDTV/HDMI out and I would just like to ask...?
what is the difference in using a driver that came from NVIDIA and the driver that came from MSI website? Which is safer? Faster? or handles the video/graphics card well?? Can someone help me out?? o_O coz all of us wants to maximize the lifespan of our gadgets. Thanks =)|||No difference, the tuning MSI did to the branded driver on its website is too miniscure to add anything but nothing compare to the generic NVidia driver.|||Generally speaking, they are the same driver, rebranded.
nVidia are probably released sooner than MSI's, but overall it'll make no difference to the lifespan of your graphics card.

Does the hdmi onboard work with the video card or not? is it only onboard?
Does the hdmi connector on the motherboard (for example EVGA nForce 730a Motherboard) work with only with the onboard graphics. Or does it work with the pci-express video card?|||It works with the 730a board itself. It should just work when you plug it into a TV.
If not then try disconnecting the normal monitor and rebooting.
If still not then you may need to change the motherboard graphics card settings. Right click on a blank bit of your desktop area and select either:
"Properties" on a Win XP machine
"NVidia control panel" on a Vista Machine
All the settings about DVI and HDMI output are there.

I need an old video card for an old PC that is PCI (not PCIe) that also has HDMI.?
Does anyone have a PCI card that has HDMI? I want to use it to play divx movies on the TV via an older HP desktop. No gaming just movie watching. I opened up the thing and the AGP slot is missing, I can clearly see where it used to be (if it was there at all). Before I get this card does anyone have any experience with PCI and HDMI and what issues I could encounter do what I want to do with it? I am also open to any alternatives, the PC has firewire and USB 2.0 would one of those work better with an adapter just for HDMI instead of a video card?

Video card (HDMI-SVIDEO-DVI)?
i have a little issue i have a 512mb ddr5 video card pci-e and i want to hook it up to my tv but my tv only has RCA jack and s-video inputs so i was wondering if there is some kinda of video jack converter that i could get to hook up to my TV anyone have any ideas?|||You will need a signal converter box that has the electronics to translate the HDMI or DVI signal from your video card to S-video for your TV to use.
Those simple cable adapters are intended for video cards that have specially-built DVI or VGA ports that can also send out an S-video signal, and probably will NOT work with your vid card.

I got a new video card for my computer that has an HDMI port. Does the type of HDMI cord matter for gaming?
Should I invest in an expensive HDMI cord or just get a cheaper one. Will I notice a difference when gaming?
The video card i got was a SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100283VXL Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||If you are not the type who would be frequently plugging/unplugging the HDMI connectors to PC or to monitor, a cheap HDMI cord should work fine.
The digital VIDEO signal on the HDMI and DVI ports are similar. It is just that HDMI also carries sound while DVI is purely video signal. So if your monitor has built-in speakers, use HDMI. Otherwise, use DVI and connect external speakers to PC's audio port.

Does the XFX GeForce GTS 250 Video Card come with an audio loop cable for HDMI audio?
I have been looking to buy a new graphics card for my computer and i would like to buy the XFX GeForce GTS 250 Video Card - 512MB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0, (2) Dual Link DVI, SLI Ready(from Tiger Direct) but it doesnt say it comes with an HDMI audio loop cable unlike the PNY GeForce GTS 250 Video Card - 512MB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0, (2) Dual Link DVI, SLI Ready which does come with the audio loop cable. Now you all are probably saying why not just get the one that comes with the audio loop cable? and i will answer with; the XFX graphics card looks cooler. :) So if it does come with the cable i would rather get the XFX. Unfortunately, your video card is not going to fit that motherboard. There's no PCI to PCI-Express adapter as that would defeat the object of having a faster data throughput slot which the video card would naturally fit into.
The other bad news is that you need to check the power output (in Watts) of your PSU (Power Supply Unit). Unfortunately, Dell have a tendency to put underpowered PSU units in many of their computer systems.
Some even more bad news, I'm afraid, is that some models of Dell computers don't use standard ATX PSU supplies, so you MAY not be able to buy a replacement that will fit your computer case.
I'm truly sorry to be the bearer of such bad news.

Is this video card a PCI-Express Inno3D GT 430 2GB SDDR3 DVI VGA HDMI Out PCI-E Graphics Card?
I want to buy this video card but i am not sure wether it is for a PCI-E slot or PCI-E 2.0 slot please help|||sorry but Ray is wrong, there are currently two versions of PCiE, 1.0 and 2.0. The slots are backward compatible but the cards are not, meaning that you can put a PCiE 1.0 card into a PCiE 2.0 slot and it will work, but putting a PCiE 2.0 card in a 1.0 slot is not guaranteed to work as you found out previously. The PCiE 2.0 cards have an different instruction set to run at the faster protocol speeds and although some cards will work in a version 1.0 slot not all are capable of doing so.
Of the various sites I checked that actually stated what PCiE version the card was, all said it was PCiE 2.0 (the inno3D website does not actually specify!)
You do of course realise that although it may have 2Gb of memory that this is the much slower DDR and the not the much better GDDR, if you can find a card with GDDR 4 or 5 as this is up to 10 times faster than standard DDR on your graphics cards, GDDR5 is twice as fast as GDDR3.|||well pcie-2.0 and pcie is the same thing , you can buy this without any fear . you will be able to use this card if your motherboard has pcie slot ,

I need to get a HDMI video card for my pc. I have been told that I need to make sure I get the correct one to fit my computer. I do not know what I am looking for. My computer has the following expansion slots:

Can anyone explain what I need to look for in a video card to ensure it fits my computer, and which of the above slots should I connect it to?|||Okay you have pci express slots which mean you can get just about any pci express video card. Which can range anywhere from 50 to 700 dollars depending on the card. Go to newegg.com. You can look up video cards by your computer model, your expansion slot type (agp, pci, pciexpress).
From there it is just researching what you need and what your system can handle as it is now. If you have a computer from dell or gateway they usually come with small power supplies. If you are getting a High end card then you will need to check on your power supply. Newegg.com also has a calculator that will show you what will fit in your system as it is right now. If you are looking to play the newest games you have the pciexpress expansion slots which are the newest and most modern expansion slots. Provided you have a good proccessor and power supply you can put just about any card in that computer. If you are looking for the fastest most powerful you will spend quite a lot for it. If you are just looking for something to upgrade to HDMI output and watch some videos then you may not need the power of a pciexpress card as they make pci cards that can do that. BUT good luck getting any game to run on a pci card.
I would recommend this card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
It is a nice card with decent specs a hdmi slot as well as a nice price point. This is a middle of the road card. Which means if you want to play the latest games you're not going to be playing them on high detail. But they will have very good video playback.|||You have a PCIe slot -- which means most video cards nowadays should fit into your computer.
The PCI-E 16x slot is for video cards -- you should have one that resembles this:
http://linuxtidbits.files.wordpress.com/…
It is the longest slot out of all the PCIE slots in your motherboard.
Depending on what you plan to use it on, your choices might range from the basic sub $60 video card (so you can use a high resolution monitor) to a more powerful $300 card (gaming at high resolutions).
Go on Newegg and have a look through the video cards. I recommend something from the Radeon 4xxx series or Geforce 200 series if you need something basic.|||hi chris
yes you should have no problems fitting a pci-express x16 graphic card in your pc...any pci-express x16 card will be fine however you also need to check you have a good enough power supply for the card you buy
the expansion slot marked "PCI1 (2h) : PCIe 32-bit +5V PME Full-Length Available" indicates your system will support a pci-express x16 card
you also have a smaller pci-express x1 slot which is used for some soundcards and network interface cards(nics)
when looking for a card pay special attention to the following specs
core clock : speed of the gpu or graphics processing unit....the faster the better(pref over 600mhz)
memory clock : speed of the cards memory ( look at over 1000mhz ddr effective )
memory buffer : size of the memory...go for over 512mb of memory
memory bit interface : width of the memory bus,,,at least 128bit however go for 256bit if possible
memory bandwidth : indicates the overall performance of a card...over 50gb/sec go for
i hope this helps....any problems let me know

PCI Express x16 Card with HDMI output that works with 250 watt PSU?
My parents have a cheap Compaq desktop PC -- the functionality it offers generally exceeds their needs. However, I would like to connect this PC to their television so they can watch streaming videos more easily. Unfortunately, the integrated video card that came with the PC only supports VGA output. I would like to add a new video card that supports HDMI output. The system board has an open PCI Express x16 slot which supports video -- but as I look on NewEgg, I notice many of the cards have minimum power supply requirements exceeding 250 watts. Surely there are some out there that work with 250 watts (or less)? Any model/brand recommendations?
Thanks,
Josh|||Vomit is correct, the Radeon HD 5450 and 6450 both run fine on 250 watt power supplies- the 5450 doesn't even draw 15 watts under full load. I recommend the 6450 because it can handle full HD Blu-Ray playback flawlessly.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
ATI/AMD's published psu requirements on their sub-$100 card models are inflated way above what those cards actually use. For example, the much stronger Radeon HD 5670 and 6670 also have an "official" psu requirement of 400 watts, but even those cards don't have an external power connector and draw less than 60 watts under full load.... so those work fine on most 300W psus. For most computers with a 6450 or 5450 installed, total system power consumption is below 180 watts.

How does a pci-e hdmi graphics card effect the built-in sound card on my computer?
will the hdmi graphics card carry both video and sound to my lcd tv and will my computer speakers still work by being pluged into the sound jack on the computer?|||Hi, I own a Sapphire HD5850 Toxic 1GB video card with an HDMI connector. Is this ATI Radeon HD 3450 512MB GDDR2 PCI-Express x16 DVI+HDMI+VGA Desktop Video Graphics Card compatible?
Is this ATI Radeon HD 3450 512MB GDDR2 PCI-Express x16 DVI+HDMI+VGA Desktop Video Graphics Card Compatible with Windows Vista Ultimate? Please Be Sure.|||yes its compatiable with both windows vista and windows seven ... and it supports full 3d acceleration on both operating systems and supports transparency themes ...|||Yes it is most definitely compatible.
If you check AMD's website for product specs it specifically mentions vista in the large red box, second last point that begins with "Runs Cool and Quiet" check here:

i just bought new video card Gigabyte GeForce GT 440 1GB DDR3, 128bit, HDMI, DVI, PCI Express 2.0 and when i start my computer its just black screen nothing,I also have integrated video card.My
motherboard is H61M-D2-B3.so my video card doesnt work or something?|||Well one of them doesn't.. but which one?
When you fitted the new GPU Did you change the VGA Lead...
From Monitor to Motherboard - From Monitor to GPU?
So unplug the VGA Lead and connect it to the GPU.
If the Screen's Black the GPU plugged in is faulty.
Hope it helps :)
P.S: GPU = Graphics Processing Unit.|||Gth :)
|||My first guess would be that you have to disable the on-board graphic card in the BIOS. Most likely find it under Integrated Peripherals. Hope this helps. Good Luck.|||did u plug your monitor into the new video card instead of your onboard video?

PCI-E are video card slots. You have two so you can use two matching ATI radeon video cards in Crossfire mode. You can not use two Nvidia cards in SLI Mode on this motherboard.
PCI slots are typically used for Sound cards, network cards, and generally any add-in cards. They used to be the standard for video cards years ago...PCI was replaced by AGP, which in turn was replaced by PCI-E.|||PCI Express 2.0 x16 2

Looking for a PCI-E that supports HDMI out for high-def viewing, preferably with passive cooling?
I'm converting my old machine into a HTPC. It's an AMD 3000+ machine with 1gb of memory, and I'm looking to add a video card that will support high def viewing on my plasma. Currently, when connected with a vga cable, high def videos I download stutter and freeze.
I'm looking for a video card that will have an HDMI output and will support flawless HD viewing, so that HD videos that I download and record using my OTA HD tuner card will look great. In the future (1-2 years), I plan on purchasing an HD-DVD/Bluray drive and put that in the machine, so hopefully the card will support that as well.
Any ideas or thoughts? PCI Express interface, and hopefully passive cooling. Price isn't a problem.
Thanks!|||This one has both HDMI input and output:
http://www.blackmagic-design.com/product…|||Your best bet would be to simply get any of the passively cooled video cards on the market that also have a DVI-D output on them.
DVI is essentially the same as HDMI, they only difference between the two is the connection and the fact that HDMI includes the audio signal as well.
You can buy DVI-D to HDMI cables for much cheaper than it would cost you to buy a Video card with HDMI outputs on it. Plus, you would not be losing any image quality.
You could get buy with this guy if you are not planning on doing any gaming.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
It's only $40 after rebate.
Considering you are wanting to do HD-DVD and Blueray later, you might want to spend a few more bucks and go with this badboy:

What inexpensive used desktops will support a PCIe graphics card for HD video?
Looking for an inexpensive used desktop that has a PCI express slot and big enough power supply to support a decent graphics card with HDMI output, such as the ASUS nVidia GeForce 210 or similar. Using this for HD video mostly, no gaming.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks|||Most desktops built within the last 3-4 years should be fine... something with at least a dual-core processor and 250W or higher power supply. Recent motherboards all have a PCI-E x16 slot, and that's enough for a Radeon HD 5450 (which is quite inexpensive, but a step above the GeForce 210 and Radeon HD 4350)
The biggest potential pitfall - many inexpensive desktops are slimline models, which can only accept low-profile graphics cards and often have weak power supplies (sometimes even below 200 watts). So look a regular tower instead.
With a 220-270 watt psu, you'll have no problems running a Radeon HD 5450.
http://www.techspot.com/review/244-ati-r…|||hi michael
to be honest mate your better off buying a "motherboard bundle" which comprises of a cpu, motherboard and memory.... and then all you need to do is use your existing hard drive, dvdrw drive, psu and case......this is a inexpensive way to bring a pc up to date and you can get some excellent bundles ... for example the "
Novatech Motherboard Bundle - Intel Pentium Dual Core E5800 - 2GB DDR2 800Mhz - Intel G41 Motherboard"( http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods… ) is just £104 and you get the excellent dual core E5800.... a g41 chipset motherboard with a pci-express x16 slot and 4 x sata ports... and 2gb of ddr2 memory running at 800mhz
another bundle worth considering is the "Novatech Motherboard Bundle - Intel Core Duo E6700 - 2GB DDR3 1333Mhz - Intel G41 Motherboard"( http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods… ) which has a E6700 cpu and also has a g41 motherboard..... but has 2gb of faster ddr3 memory clocked at 1333mhz
another option would be a "barebones bundle" which is a step up from a motherboard bundle and also has a case and a psu.... check the range at http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/bareb… note : all the bundles have a pci-express x16 slot and 4 x sata ports !
out of all these barebone bundles i recommend the "Novatech Barebone Bundle - AMD X2 255- 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz - Onboard NVIDIA 7025 Graphics - 4 Bay ATX Tower Case & PSU"( http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods… ) this is based around a AMD dual core cpu ( x2 255 ) and a nvidia 7025 motherboard however theres 4gb of ddr3 memory clocked at 1333mhz which makes this bundle a powerful set up ..... add your existing hard drive and dvdrw.. and then your choice of graphic card ( i recommend the HD5670.... avalible for just £59 from http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods…
so basically the above barebone bundle for £150... and the HD5670 for £59 means you will have a powerful pc with a decent graphic card that has a HDMI and DVI output.... all for under £220 !
i hope this helps michael... however any questions let me know
good luck mate !

50pts!!! What video card should i buy around $100 that includes an HDMI ouput with audio and a DVI output?? TY?
Im looking to get a video card with my i7 processor so i can pretty much play any game out there... Modern Warfare 2, GTA IV, NFS Shift... I also watch many Blu-Ray movies and do some video/picture editing... normal slot (ex PCI) and around 100$

Does using a video card with HDMI rather than PCI make a difference for gaming?
The video card i got was a SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100283VXL Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
I plan on using an HDMI cable since it has an HDMI port but i was just curious if this will make a difference compared to using the PCI port when it comes to gaming, or does HDMI only effect things like movies and tv?|||Output of HDMI port is digital video plus audio. Output of DVI port is also digital video but NO audio. Output of VGA is ANALOG video only.
The card you bought has no VGA port, so would probably use a DVI to VGA adapter if you plan to use a VGA monitor. VGA resolution could be limited and may may not reach the high resolution that the card supports for digital output. Difference between digital and analog display is not so noticeable at low to moderate resolution.

Will this PC and Video Card be compatible?
I'm using a Dell Inspiron 530s desktop. It's very slim and I'm shopping for a stronger video card which is where the problem arises... I have one (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATI-HD4350-DVI-HDMI-PCI-E-LOW-PROFILE-GRAPHICS-CARD_W0QQitemZ250493236632QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW?hash=item3a528f7598) in mind but I'm worried it won't fit.
Anyone able to help?|||It will fit. However, the 4350 is worthless for anything other than word processing, e-mail, web surfing and movie clips. It's far too slow for games.

I do home recording & need a quiet gpu fan so I would like to buy a cheap video card with a more silent fan. As of now i just have a loud:

It rattles n is disturbing my sleep too.|||Galaxy nVidia GeForce 8400GS 512MB DDR3 PCIe

You might not be able to see it well in the image they show, but it does indeed have HDMI, just they used a generic stock picture with a bracket that covers it. Mine has all 3 ports as they should be.
a cheaper option would be to just buy a new fan if the card still works fine for you, most are just a couple of screws and a small connection to unclip to replace and takes 5 seconds to do.|||http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…

What video card should I get?
I have a Dell Dimension 3000 and I want to get a video card that has HDMI output and the card must be PCI. Darn search engines keep giving me PCI-Express cards.
Here's a few minor detail:
Is it possible to get on Amazon?
I'm willing to spend $70 or less (if that's impossible, I'll take whatever results)
If it isnt possible to get from Amazon, is there any other legit way to get it?|||of course, you can get a PCI video card on Amazon, but the price is too expensive, you can buy it on some oversea website, which the price is lower and the quality is fine. such as TBS8920 PCI DVB-S2 TV Tuner Card, only costs you $76.99, great deal|||there are not a lot of "good" ones in your price range, theres a pretty good $180 one however. If your willing to spend a bit more which i recommend get the Xfx Amd Radeon HD 68050 1024 MB (i think 1024 gb is equal to 1 gb)

AGP \ PCI-E? Help with Video Card...?
I am having some trouble installing my gigabyte radeon 4670. It is a PCI-E card but it seems as though if I were to install the card as it would correspond to the slot on the board the videocard would be facing inward (i.e.) the hdmi ports etc. would be in the computer instead of being exposed by the slot on the back of the computer case. It seems like it would be a perfect fit for the black AGP slot but again I believe the gigabyte radeon 4670 is a pci-e 16x card. I really am stumped. I hope someone can help. * will best answer*|||You need to be sure which you have; AGP or PCI-E
And you need to know which card you have. Look at the box, it should tell you.

XFX ATI Radeon HD 5570 1 GB DDR2 VGA/DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card , what version 1.0 or 2.0 x16?
need to know what version of x16 is it 1.0 or 2.0 or what|||It's PCIe 2.1 x16, but that doesn't matter.
PCIe 1.0 and 2.0 (and thus, 2.1) are compatible with each other, just like how USB 2.0 and 1.0 are compatible.
And at the performance level of the 5570, there is no difference between using a 1.0 slot or a 2.0 slot.
As long as you have ANY PCI-express x16 slot, you'll be fine.

Where can I find a video card for PCI slot with HDMI out?
You wont. SORRY. Only with pciexpress. Pci cant handle moving the quality of hdmi. Sorry. Dude.|||I don't think there are any. The only way I can think of is to buy one with a DVI port, then get a DVI to DMI adapter/cable.|||Check out:
http://www.newegg.com
Newegg is where alot (most?) of the folks who build their own computers buy the components.
You'll find what you want...
Good luck!|||Most graphics cards do not have this option. The only one I know of off the top of my head that does is the brand new 9800GX2 from Nvidia. It's built in HDMI port will support Video and Audio. You can go to http://www.newegg.com and buy a DVI to HDMI adapter to use the DVI port on any regular graphics card but this will not supply any Audio. It will be Video only and you will still need to connect speakers to your computer have sound like normal.
If you are looking for this to connect to your comptuer to your TV you may also have to adjust some of your graphics card settings. The settings vary between ATI and Nvidia graphics cards but you some times have to "Enable" or "Force" HDTV dedtection or HDTV resolutions. Standard graphics cards resolutions are meant for computer monitors which use different screen resolutions then HDTV's. Some HDTV's can not handle other resolutions.
For example, a 1080p TV has a resolution of 1920x1080. Most can handle 1280x720 and 640x480. 480, 720, 1080 are the three standard TV resolutions still in use but because monitors use a different aspect ratio and resolution so do graphics card. Standard big screen resolution for a computer is 1900x1200 which a 1080p can not handle. In your graphics card options you can enable the card to out put on these standard TV resolutions. Again, this is not always required but a lot of HDTV's can only handle specfic resolutions. Also make note that some graphics cards give warnings that if you "Enable" or "Force" these resolutions it may cause damage to the card as they are not resolutions they are meant to display.|||It is unlikly to find a PCI or AGP card with HDMI. There are probably a few PCIe card and there alot with DVI out. DVI is the better connection physically, electricaly they are identical. The only downside is that DVI also requires audio cable. DVI is the abbreviation of Digital Visual Interface, while HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. DVI and HDMI are more similar than different. There are a very few differences between them. DVI is an interface, which is used for providing high quality image. In DVI, the pixels are transmitted as binary data, and the brightness is set accordingly. Since the quality provided by HDMI is good, many people opt HDMI over S Video, SCART, D Terminal and many more. The signals for HDMI and DVI are compatible with each other, hence no signal conversion is required when using a DVI adapter for HDMI, and vice versa; also there is no loss of data when a DVI adapter is used for HDMI or vice versa. HDMI is said to be a successor of DVI, hence HDMI is better than DVI in many aspects, like the transfer rate of HDMI is more than DVI. Both DVI and HDMI transfer signals, use separate red, green and blue components and the components are transferred through different data channels. HDMI is derived from the protocol used by DVI, hence the working and encoding scheme for both the technologies are same.

Can someone recommend a good PCI Video card that has an HDMI output? Not PCI-E?
I'd like to be able to play 1080P videos so I need at least 512 memory, unfortunately I only have PCI slots. For sure need HDMI output for HDTV.
Thanks|||It is fairly easy to find a cable on Ebay that has DVI and audio connectors on one end and HDMI on the other. This means any 512mb video card with a DVI output ( I'm probably sure you could find a cable with a VGA 15 pin connector instead) can be used in conjunction with the standard audio output of the computer to hook directly into the HDMI port of your HDTV. As far as 512 cards for PCI, they are out there. I found several on Ebay. Several from different vendors on a Google search. Should be do-able for most novice techies anyhow. Hope this eases the task a little.|||I've bought video cards and such off Newegg. Here is a link for PCI cards:

Nice thing about a site like this is that they have a rating from other people so you can get an idea of how the cards perform from other people that have bought them. The first thing you want to do when installing or upgrading a video card is to make sure you have an adequate power supply. One with enough wattage. Most of the older computers came with pretty weak power supplies. I had a HP Pentium 3 years ago and I put a PCI card in it. Wasn't even that powerful a card. But the computer started shutting off. Turns out the power supply that came with the computer wasn't powerful enough to run with a graphics card in it. I put a more powerful power supply in with more wattage and it was fine after that.
Thanks|||It is fairly easy to find a cable on Ebay that has DVI and audio connectors on one end and HDMI on the other. Would this video card work with this motherboard if i removed the integrated video card?
The motherboard is an Asus M2N68-AM SE2 Motherboard - Socket AM2+, MATX, Audio, GeForce 7025 Graphics, SATA, RAID.
The video card is a HIS Radeon HD IceQ+ 5750 Video Card - 1GB GDDR5, PCI Express 2.0, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort
I KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THE INTEGRATED VIDEO CARD AND IT CAN BE DONE|||You cannot remove the integrated video card. Usually you can either disable it in BIOS, or tell the BIOS to check the PCI-e slots for video first.... The bios will then use the PCI-e video instead of the on board one.|||there is no need to remove a integrated gpu...plus you cant as its soldered to the board and you would most likely damage the board trying to get it off....
all you have to do is install the PCIe 5750 and start the pc up...get into the bios and disable the onboard video.....f10 to save and get out....when you get to your desktop load the drivers for the 5750 off of the cd it comes with...
most likely there old version drivers so go to amd's site and download and install the newest drivers available.....
drivers,follow the steps.....

Scott|||Okay, integrated video cards are soldered straight into the motherboard. To remove and replace it would require a hell of a lot of knowledge on computer technology, and the video card would have to be from asus really, or one that will fit directly into the gap. And finding something like that will be difficult as ****. My advice, stay away from it.
Other solutions would be to get an external card holder thing...but I don't really know enough about them. Only that for the price of one, you could get a new laptop.|||all plugin video cards have a vga driver built into them , disable your onboard card through the device manager, turn off and unplug the pc ,install the new card replug back in the pc, turn on,
check the bios that the video adapter is set for pci-e, install the software, adjust the video card settings, no need to remove the intergrated video card|||Hi Owen,
You can disable your current onboard VGA adapter in the BIOS and enable the new card in the BIOS. This should work, but I advise you to leave the actual VGA adapter in place on the motherboard if you were thinking of physically removing it.

Best pci video card w/ hdmi?
looking to up grade my video card...with a HDMI.....Whats the best card and best prices....thanks..window xp...pen. 4cpc 2.60hz media center edition.....coulpe years old....|||XFX HD-677X-ZNLC Radeon HD 6770 Video Card - 1GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.1 (x16), DVI, HDMI, VGA, DirectX 11, Single-Slot, CrossFireX Ready
Works just fine on my 67" screen|||if yours is as old as my 2004, you may have only 2 choices: AGP8x and PCI bus cards, which really limit you, since PCI is slow and AGP8x is only available from ebay - if you can still find them.|||PCI cards are rare these days. Let-alone one that has an HDMI output. Consider: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||"window xp...pen. 4cpc 2.60hz media center edition.....coulpe years old...." isnt really enough information to pick a graphics card for your system. If you think your computer is good enough get the 6800 series but only if your motherboard is up to it or it wont be compatible. If your not that confident i think the 5600 series would be a better pick|||all depends on ur price range... you can get a pretty good one w/ hdmi for 60-80 bucks but it won't be as good as the $150 ones cuz they have faster and more powerful processors and memory...
sapphire radaeon 5770 is what i have.. hdmi is plugged into my 37'' tv.. hdmi is unbelievable.. 1080p is crystal clear... paid $120 for it like 6 months ago.|||There are many different cards which offer an hdmi output, it depends on what card your MB can support. Get yourself a radeon 4850, that will go well with your current specs, and shouldn't get bottlenecked by your cpu.

HP Pavilion p6710f and XFX ATI Radeon HD5830 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card HD583XZAFC?
So I bought an HP Pavilion p6710f and I am having trouble playing The Witcher 2 on it. Can I buy a XFX ATI Radeon HD5830 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card HD583XZAFC for it and install it to my HP PC to help the game run? Will it work? Can it be done? I just dont want to buy it and it doesnt work or isnt compatible with my PC. Anyone with any knowledge of this please let me know, thank you.|||Your motherboard has a PCI-E slot for it, so the video card is compatible with the motherboard.
The second thing that can cause problems is the power supply. The HD5830 requires a PSU that has an output of around 400 to 500W. Assuming that the PC is pre-built, it will most likely not have a sufficient PSU to run the HD5830 (you can open up your computer case and check the side of the PSU to obtain the power output). If so, you will either need to upgrade the PSU or go for a video card that consumes less power (I would recommend going for a HD4670 if you are going for a video card that consumes very little power).
I hope this helps!|||theres three things u need to know - anogh ram good processor speed and good enough video memory
