How does a pci-e hdmi graphics card effect the built-in sound card on my computer?

will the hdmi graphics card carry both video and sound to my lcd tv and will my computer speakers still work by being pluged into the sound jack on the computer?|||Hi, I own a Sapphire HD5850 Toxic 1GB video card with an HDMI connector. I have no special cable running from mu mobo to GPU, but am able to enable the ATI DP output as my playback device and/or make it the default device.

Additional cables are not needed, although some other video cards may require it|||will the hdmi graphics card carry both video and sound to my lcd tv<<<<<yes but you'll need a special cable to connect from your motherboard to your video called

will my computer speakers still work by being plugged into the sound jack on the computer<<<<< Once you successfully connect the HDMI and have sound going through it you'll have anew option in your sound options to either use the computer speakers or the HDMI
